The holidays are here, and that means lots of entertaining!  I know we will be having a couple of get togethers here that will need some good foods, and what better foods, than yummy sweets?

Walmart’s new Holiday Entertaining Guide, available December 4th in stores and online, has some amazing ideas for getting your home and kitchen ready for the holidays!

I went over to my local Walmart store, and picked up a few items that I know are big hits at our get togethers. First, I picked up everything I need to make Rice Krispie Treats (Rice Krispies, Butter, Marshmallows). I don’t know anyone that doesn’t like Rice Krispie Treats, and they’re so easy to make! The cool part is that you can use cookie cutters and serve them in Christmas shapes, like Christmas trees, candy canes, or gingerbread men! You can even use food coloring, or color sprinkles to add a little bit of festivity to it!

Chocolate is another staple during the holidays. Walmart sells a twin pack of Betty Crocker brownie mixes for less than $2! I love using my heart shaped pan to make them, but you can use any pan that holds the brownie batter! These can also be cut with cookie cutters if you wish!

What do you need to wash it all down? Hot Cocoa of course!  Walmart has a 30 pouch pack of Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa, including the Marshmallow packs, for just $3.38! Add some cool whip or mini marshmallows and you’re ready to snuggle in for a viewing of The Polar Express!
