DIY Craft – Fabric and Toilet Paper Pumpkins

I know, what does toilet paper have to do with pumpkins? This is such a cute and easy way to use up some of your random fabric scraps, and keep toilet paper hidden away in random places! One thing you don’t have to worry about, is running out of toilet paper, during the holidays… Unless, of course, you don’t replace the paper in the pumpkins…

So this is super easy, super fast,  and even the kids can make these!

What you need:

Supplies

Rolls of Toilet Paper

Fabric scraps 22×22 inches square, or close. (I searched the scrap bin at Walmart)

Batting, or Plastic Grocery Bags (We used our plastic grocery bags)

Hemp twine, or rope (Walmart’s Craft Section)

Silk Fall Leaves (found our Fall Garland!)

Brown Paper Grocery Bags

Glue Gun (optional)

How you make it:

1. Cut your fabric into squares approximately  22 x 22 inches and place a roll of toilet paper in the center.

2. Wrap two plastic grocery bags loosely around the roll of toilet paper.

3. Start tucking the edges of the fabric into the center of the cardboard roll, making sure fabric is pleated somewhat evenly around the pumpkin.

4. Cut the front off of a paper grocery bag, fold it in half and roll it up.

5. Tie the twine/rope at one end of the paper bag roll, and wrap it around the paper as tightly as you’d like. Tie off at the other end.

6. Put the paper bag/rope roll into the center of the cardboard roll.

7. Tuck in artificial leaves, or glue them on using the hot glue gun.

8. Place them wherever a little big of Fall decor is needed!

Like I said, these are so easy to make, and you can make a bunch of them in a short amount of time! You can have fun with various fabrics and patterns. You can even play around with the leaves, and vines, or however you want to make them to fit your decor! Have fun!

Have you made these before? I’d love to see them! Post pics in the comments below!!!
