Valentine’s Day is coming up, and whether you’re looking for a gift to give, or a little something for yourself, Walmart has you covered!
Of course, you can buy something from their selection of ready to go items, or you could get crafty and make something yourself!
I decided to check out the craft area of my local store and see what they had available so I could make something this Valentine’s Day, and I was not disappointed!
Our Walmart’s DIY Jewelry section has a great selection of beads, strands, and findings, so I was able to look around and put something together pretty quickly in my mind. It was just a matter of getting home and putting it together for real!
Ok.. so here’s what you need to make these three items.
Let’s start with the bracelet first! The beads I chose are already connected with metal loops so I don’t have to restring anything! How easy is that!?!?! Due to the length, I did remove one oval bead link from each end so that I could add the toggle and the bracelet would be the right size to wear. Set aside these bead links to use in a few minutes!
Use your pliers to open one jump ring and place one toggle end in, and close securely in the last bead loop with your pliers. Repeat to the other end of the bracelet with the other part of the toggle!
If desired, take one of your single charms and connect it to the jump ring on the open toggle piece!
Your bracelet should look like this:
Perfect! Now that those are done, let’s move on to the earrings.
With the charm pack I picked, we had two matching sets of charms, so I made two pairs of earrings! Let’s make the set that matches the bracelet perfectly.
Take the bead links you removed from the bracelet, and open one end to connect to the fish hook. Close securely with your pliers. Open the bottom loop and add a charm to it. Repeat with the other bead link and you now have a matching pair! We don’t have a spare set of bead links, but we can still make a simple pair of earrings by simply opening up the base of the fish hook and securing a charm on there. Super easy!
This project took me, seriously, a total of 15 minutes, and less than $15 to make. This would make a great gift set for Valentine’s Day, even for a teacher…. and it was SO easy to make!
