Family Movie Night: Heaven Is For Real

About a year ago, I read a book called Heaven Is For Real, about a little boy named Colton, who, after his appendix burst and had to have major surgery to save his life, begins telling his parents that he went to heaven. At first his dad, a preacher, begins to think that his son is making things up. Not too long after, the sweet little boy begins saying things that he typically wouldn’t know about, or hadn’t yet been told about, which makes his parents, believe. The struggle not only includes the family, but the community as well…

HeavenStarThe book was recently made into a movie, and while there were a few differences, I really feel like the story was done justice through the film making. The film,  which came out this past Tuesday on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD, is based on the #1 New York Times best-selling book and brings the profoundly moving story of the Burpo family to life. All I have to say is, if you watch, keep a box of tissues handy.

If you have ever wondered if Heaven really is real, then you really need to watch this movie.

heavenWe were sent the movie to watch with our families for this blog post, as well as a paperback copy of the book to read! When it arrived, I declared it Family Movie Night, and even invited some friends over to watch it with us! They came over, we had a little mini potluck dinner, and sat down to enjoy the movie.

This movie was great for both the adults and the kids! The kids were all glued to the movie the entire time..

The Blu-Ray & DVD set that is sold only in Walmart stores,  has an exclusive bonus disc, which features the Burpo family as well as some other great featurettes:
