New Swiffer Sweep and Trap

There are a myriad of different sweepers and brooms and various floor cleaning devices out there. I probably have a good bunch of them, and have used them many times on the various floor surfaces that we have had over the years. This time around, I was asked to check out the new Sweep & Trap from Swiffer… Here’s what I think about it!

Putting it all together is easy. Take it apart and snap the handle together. Press the Swiffer dry cloth on to the pad, and sweep away! The Swiffer Sweep & Trap requires no cords, or batteries. It’s easy to handle, which makes it great to give to the kids to use to help out.

One tip… Always sweep while pushing the Swiffer Sweep & Trap. I’m used to a vacuum cleaner, and if you try to pull back on this, it’ll throw whatever you caught back out onto the floor… Another thing I found was that onion skins were not easily picked up while I was sweeping my up kitchen. It picks up some things with ease, but some other things it’s not so good at.

I tried the Swiffer Sweep & Trap in my kitchen and my entry way.. all on hardwood floors. The kit I received for review came with a little packet of wood shavings, so I figured I’d toss some on the floor and give it a go. For the most part, it picked up a bunch of the wood shavings, but it seemed like it was pushing a little bit around too.

Emptying the things that the Swiffer Sweep & Trap picked up was easy. The container easily unclipped from the top, and I was able to toss away whatever wood shavings, and other crumbs were picked up. The cloth… was dirty… ewwww

clothIt seemed to pick up a lot of the smaller things, like dirt and dust, that I didn’t even know was really there… It also caught up a couple of onion skins and wood shavings, which helped.

All in all, I think this product is good for quick, light cleanups around the kitchen, or whatever hard floors you may have. It’s definitely not going to get a deep clean, but it’ll be good for a quick fix.

If you want to check it out for yourself, it’s available on Walmart.com and in your local Walmart store for only $19.97. Let me know what you think about it!
