Fall means, back to school, and back to sports for many people, and this year, we are no exception. My girls are finally in the third grade, which means a lot of opportunities to join in after school activities. This year, they joined a program called Girls On The Run. Designed to allow every girl to recognize her inner strength, the Girls on the Run curriculum inspires girls to define their lives on their own terms. Throughout the season, the girls make new friends, build their confidence and celebrate all that makes them unique. At the end of the 10 weeks, the team completes a 5k and gives them that feeling of accomplishment and teaches them about setting and achieving goals.

The program starts this week at our school, and it’s going to be lots of running, for them and me. When I was asked about what we could possibly get at Walmart to help us get through this sport event, I knew exactly what we needed!

We already have our running clothes and shoes, but we really needed some healthy snacks for the kids! I went straight over to the Sporting Goods section and found a good sized cooler that would hold everything we need for me and my girls. I picked up the Ozark Trail 24 can cooler. It was only $14.88, and has lots of room for drinks and snacks! I headed straight over to the grocery side and picked up some Special K Granola Bars, Bananas, Apple Slices, Water, and Gatorade.

I have no doubt that Walmart is going to be where I go to keep our snacks and drinks stocked up for the duration of the program. I am able to find everything I need in just one place, and there are plenty of things that I can choose from. My girls have given me a lost of goodies that they’d like for snacks, so I’ve got my shopping list ready for the season.
