BTS- Build Your Own Easy Bento Lunches

School is almost here, and we are just about ready. This year, we are promising to do better for our environment, and stay away from the typical sandwich bags, and excess waste. Last year, we used our Rubbermaid Lunch Blox almost exclusively. This year, we’re going to be using those again, but we’re also going to be checking out a couple of other products as well. We are also going to try to have more fun with our lunch designs. It’s going to take some work, and time, but it will totally be worth it!

I made a quick video showing you how to make Japanese Rice Rolls, and also how we did lunch last year. I hope that this will give you some ideas for your kids’ lunches this year!

In order to fit their bento boxes into their lunch box, we had to find a certain size and shape of lunch box. We searched the shelves at our local Walmart and found these lunch boxes below. They come in black and white, but I figured it would be fun for the girls to color them in however they wanted. They loved that idea, and took our Sharpies and went with it! They had a good time “personalizing” their lunch boxes.

Lunches this year will be fun, with the new ideas that I found in the Yum Yum Bento Box book that I was given. It won’t happen all the time, but when I am able to plan ahead, it’ll be a nice surprise for the kidlets!

I’d love to see some of your ideas! How creative can you be with your kids’ lunches?
