Beach packing just got a little bit easier. I like to go to the beach, but I hate lugging so many bags with me across the sand. There’s one for toys, one for towels, and one for sunscreen, snacks and whatever else we decided to throw into the van for the day. I usually end up carrying two bags, chairs, umbrellas, and a couple of buckets worth of toys. We try to divvy up all the things so that everyone carries something.
Walmart sent me the new Mainstays Backpack Chair, and I couldn’t wait to take it for a spin.
We very quickly planned a trip to Topsail Beach, NC, and decided to see how well this chair worked out for us. I packed the usual bag with the towels and the beach toys, but this time, the sunscreens, and some of the smaller items that we wanted to keep handy, all went into the pouch on the backpack chair. We secured the top flap and tossed it into the back of the van with everything else. I didn’t even try to make sure the chair stayed upright. I think it even went in sideways. When we got to the beach, I noticed that nothing I had put in had fallen out. That was a good sign. The straps were easy to put on and adjust. It was surprisingly light, even with all of my things in it. It was a lot easier to carry everything down to the sand. Freeing up a hand is awesome, especially when you have a couple of little ones just itching to get to the water to play!
Once we got everything set up, it was time to relax a bit. I set up the umbrellas and sat down. I loved that the chair actually reclined pretty well. It wasn’t enough to lie down completely, but it was comfortable. The chair also has an adjustable “pillow” or head rest. There is also a drink holder too! I really liked it, and I’m considering buying one for hubby and the kids too!
Now, we used this for the beach, but this chair is pretty versatile. It would be great for taking to sports games, picnics, fireworks shows and anywhere else sitting in a chair is better than sitting on the ground!
