New Quaker Perfect Portions Oatmeal

Oatmeal is a big part of breakfast here. I promised myself that I would make sure that I had a good for me breakfast, every morning, as part of working on a healthier me. I have often had a hard time making the time to eat breakfast, but with the Perfect Portions Instant Oatmeal, I can make the right amount in a short amount of time. There’s no sugar added, so it’s great to know that it’s better for me than some of the other options that I have for breakfast.

I was sent a package of Cinnamon flavored Quaker Perfect Portions Oatmeal. I was excited to see that it could be made with either water or milk. Milk is awesome because it means that I can get that extra bit of calcium into my diet. I also like that I can make a small bit for myself, or I can make a larger portion for me and my girls too!

It’s super easy to make. To make one serving, I take a 1/2 cup of the oatmeal, and 1 cup of water or milk. I cook it in the microwave for about a minute. If it’s still too watery, I can cook it for an additional 30 seconds or until it thickens enough. The package suggests 4 teaspoons of sugar or sweetener, but I only add a tiny bit of honey for flavor. It’s perfect for me!

I really like the idea that I get to control the sweetness of this product unlike some of the other oatmeal options that are full of sugar right out of the package. I can get up to 8 single servings out of this package, and with a price of only $1.98 at Walmart, this is a very affordable, quick and easy, healthy breakfast for me and my family!
