This month was my girls’ 7th birthday, and we were having a totally awesome party for them.

We invited a bunch of their friends and neighbors, and we even had their grandparents (my parents) join in the fun via webcam! The biggest part of the party was an awesome magic show done by the Rockstar Magic of Chris and Neal. It was awesome! This was all so much fun, but no party, including ours, would be complete without cake and ice cream!

As a Walmart Mom, I was offered me the chance to get a cake from their bakery for the girls’ birthday, and since we typically get our cakes from Walmart, I was more than happy to see what they had to offer, and I decided to take my girls with me so they could pick out their cake for their special day!

So, we all know that Walmart offers the flat 1/4 sheet cakes with all the cute cartoon characters, or super heros on them, or even the now popular *cupcake* cakes, but did you know that they also had fancier cakes? Walmart offers tier cakes for various special occasions, including weddings! I had no idea!

So, as we were going through the binder at the Walmart Bakery, we were a little disappointed because they had so many character cakes, but didn’t have anything that was magic themed. They really wanted a magic themed cake to go with their big Magic Show Party. We got to the back of the big binder, and my daughter’s eyes just lit up. She had found the cake that she wanted.

I took care of ordering the cake, and gave them the time and date that I wanted to pick it up. Saturday at 10am would be that time. The associate that was helping me warned me that they didn’t have the stars that were shown on the top of the cake in the picture, and although that was one of the reasons my daughter liked that cake, I promised her we’d find something to put there.

Saturday comes around, and the house is decorated. I run up to the store to pick up the cake, and it was awesome. One of the ladies from the bakery even came out to help me find something to put on the top of the cake. I ended up finding these candles that were like sparklers, and they looked like they would work just fine.

We have our awesome magic show, and then start to set up the cake and ice cream. Everyone was really excited about the cake. We received so many compliments, and everyone was pleasantly surprised when they found out that it came from Walmart. They were even surprised at the low cost! The cake looked awesome, and the sparkler candles, although they didn’t sparkle as much as I had hoped, were fun! The cake tasted great and we couldn’t have been happier with it.

Walmart has great prices on all of their cakes, and they have a pretty good selection. They even have custom photo cakes that they can do!

If you’re looking for a cake for a special occasion, Walmart is a great place to order a cake!
