Family movie night is back!

Being a Walmart Mom has its perks sometimes, and this post is all about one of those perks.

I’m sure you’ve at least heard of Family Movie Night, sponsored by Walmart and P&G. Family friendly movies such as The Jensen Project, Secrets of the Mountain and A Walk in My Shoes have already aired, and given families a chance to come together and enjoy something that’s suitable for all ages. Well, tomorrow, January 8th, a new Family Movie will air called Change of Plans, and I was able to get a sneak preview of this movie so I could tell you all about it!

To give you a quick synopsis of Change of Plans,

Up to this point, Sally Danville’s life has played out just as she hoped it would. A beautiful and free-spirited musician, she and her fighter-pilot husband, Jason, live life on the go, free of domestic responsibilities. But with a single phone call from Child & Family Services case worker, Dorothy (Phylicia Rashad, The Cosby Show), she learns that things don’t always go according to plan. Sally (Brooke White, American Idol) is met with the news that her best friend from college has died in a tragic accident on a Peace Corps mission and has named Sally the legal guardian of her four kids – 3 of them adopted from third-world countries. Now Sally and Jason (Joe Flanigan, Stargate Atlantis) must quickly learn to parent this instant family and help the kids deal with the culture clash of life in America. The story is both humorous and heartwarming, revealing how fulfilling life can be when you look beyond your own plans and invest in the lives of others.

I have to admit, I was laughing and crying through the entire movie. It’s definitely something that my girls will get into, with the smattering of music throughout the movie and Brooke White was pretty good in her role as, well, the musical superstar turned mom. Oh! and keep an eye at the end for an appearance by someone else from the American Idol family as well!

Tune in to your local FOX station tomorrow night at 8/7pm to catch the latest Family Movie Night Movie… and as always.. if you love it… you can purchase it at your local Walmart on DVD on Sunday!

Edited: I just found out that the DVD won’t be available until March 🙁 Too bad, because my girls like to watch them over and over LOL… So make sure you catch it on Saturday or DVR it… or else you’ll have to wait until March to be able to see it!
