Easter- Baking the Perfect Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Easter is coming up quickly, and with that, another chance to get together with friends and family. If you’re looking for a simple, and delicious dessert to bring to Easter Dinner, this one is perfect! I wanted to share with you, one of my absolute favorite desserts from my childhood, and something that my dad would make for us a lot, especially around this time of year.

Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Yes, it’s a family favorite and, rather than placing just a few slices flat on the bottom of a baking sheet, it’s made in a bundt pan and slices perfectly into single serving slices, and every slice has pineapple and a cherry!

What you need:

ingredients

  • Pineapple Cake Mix
  • 3 eggs
  • Vegetable oil
  • water
  • Bundt Cake Pan
  • Brown Sugar
  • Butter
  • Canned, Sliced Pineapple
  • 1 jar Maraschino Cherries

How you make it:

  • Mix cake mix, eggs, water and vegetable oil as directed on the box.

  • Heavily coat inside of bundt cake pan with butter.

  • Sprinkle brown sugar around base of pan, until well coated.

  • Cut pineapple slices in half, and place vertically in ridges of cake pan.

  • Place a cherry in between each pineapple slice.

  • Carefully pour in cake mix, and bake as directed.
  • Let cool, and flip upside down on a serving platter.

  • Slice along one side of each slice of pineapple for perfect serving portions!
