Setting Your Holiday Table

It’s nearly Christmas, and setting the perfect table is a big deal! You want it to look cozy and pretty, and, well, like Christmas! This blog post is all about showing you how to make the table look great, with things you probably already have around the house, with a couple of easy additions to make it new every year!

Our table is special to us because it was hand built by my dear hubby. I hate covering it up, because it’s so pretty, so my table decor is actually pretty minimal. I keep a table runner on it, like this one from Better Homes & Gardens! I picked this one up for under $15. A good centerpiece is very important. It doesn’t have to be huge, but festive is a must!

Our plates are simple white, and square from Better Homes & Gardens also. I’ve picked up the Iced Tea Glasses from Libbey, and use them for water or tea, and I have wine glasses at the ready for anyone who would like to have wine.

If you like to set the table with assigned seating, I have a very simple, and very cute way to display your name cards! Pick up some card stock and Candy Canes at your local Walmart store! I like using a Sharpie to write names on the card stock. I have a paper slicer that helps me make straight cuts, but you can also use a really good pair of scissors! Now, take some festive ribbon and tie the candy canes together on the long ends. Flip them upside down to use the canes as a “picture stand” to hold your name cards. Make one set for everyone at your dinner! Now they know where to sit, and they have their after dinner mint all ready!

Now, just because we go simple, doesn’t mean that you have to too! Walmart has some amazing Holiday Table Decor in stores now that you can use to make some beautiful table settings like these! You have to pick them up quick though, because they’re going fast!
