Walmart- Your One Stop Shop for Back to School

It’s that time of year again… Some parents are dancing and rejoicing and some are wishing for just a few more days of sleeping in. Yep… It’s back to school time. How do you survive it all? The shoe shopping, the clothing shopping, and the dreaded supply shopping… Did you know that you can get it all done in one place? Walmart has everything you need to get in, get what you need, and get out and do it on a budget!

Now, I could tell you how you could save all kinds of money on your kid’s school lunches and school supplies by buying at Walmart, and using Savings Catcher to catch any sales you missed in your local area… I could also tell you how you could buy some really cute clothes at Walmart, and put together bunches of outfits for less than you could at any competitor… But you already know that stuff. Right? Well, if you don’t.. then you need to check out the current Walmart ad! There are so many items listed on Rollback, you can’t help but have a little fun shopping!

I was asked to post about something Back to School themed, so I thought I’d have a little fun with it… We decided to put a little Back to School gift together for our new teacher! It wasn’t expensive, and it wasn’t elaborate, but it was a little gift that showed our appreciation.

I did a little investigating, asking about our teacher’s favorite colors, if she had any items on her wish list, and then threw in a little relaxation that hopefully would help her after getting through the first week or so of school.

We learned that she liked blue and silver… so we went with that as our theme. We found this great shower caddy from Mainstays for only $4.87!

We then found a Thermos brand 25oz hydration bottle in blue for only $5.88 and then curly ribbon over in the gift wrap section for a couple of dollars.

In the school supply section, we found the sticky note pad… because what teacher doesn’t need extra sticky notes??? To support her Wish List items, we bought a pack of colorful Expo Dry Erase markers as well as a pack of multi colored Sharpie markers. We also know how crazy germs can be in a classroom, so we picked up a bottle of hand sanitizer. To help her relax after a potentially stressful first week back at school, we found a Lavender scented candle from Mainstays and a bottle of Lavender aromatherapy lotion… All together, this gift basket came to just under $30… Not bad, and she was very grateful!

Have fun with it! What items would you include in a Back to School gift basket for your new teacher?
