The Looming Continues with the NEW Monster Tail Loom

“Looming”… Is that a new verb now? It seems like it is with all the talk amongst the kids with these little plastic gadgets and hooks, and rubber bands… Oh the rubber bands! I was hoping to find a way around this craze, but it didn’t work. My girls are just as into “looming” as all of their friends. They’ve even started making them and trading them with many of their friends in their class.

There’s a new loom out there now, and it’s called the Monster Tail, from the makers of Rainbow Loom. It’s only $6.88 and available in the craft section of your local Walmart store, or on Walmart.com!

We were sent one to try out, and my girls were so excited when it arrived!

The Monster Tail Loom is actually pretty neat. The instruction manual that it comes with has a couple of really cool new patterns in it that I’m sure I’ll attempt at some point. My girls took it and ran with it though. It didn’t take Alexandra long at all to figure out the bracelet that she wanted to make. The Criss Cross Quadfish is the pattern she chose. It looked difficult to me, but she made it look easy.

First she started by sorting out all of the colors that she wanted, studied the instructions for a minute, and that was it. She was glued for the rest of the evening.

Here is what I could see of the bracelet that she was able to get done before it was bed time…

It’s really a pretty pattern when you have the colors going right.

MonsterTailLoom Project BookWe happened to be at our local Walmart store the other day, and I saw a book specifically for the Monster Tail Loom, called Monster Tail Rubber Band Jewelry Project Book. It was only $5, so I couldn’t resist grabbing it for the girls. They’ve been working on school projects, so they haven’t had a chance to dive into it yet, but I know I’ll have a couple of bracelets by the end of the month from them!

Is your child totally into these rubber band bracelets? Check out the Monster Tail loom at your local Walmart store, or on Walmart.com! It would make a great gift!
