Check Out New Pure Balance Dog Food

There is an abundance of choices for pet food these days.  Most people care very deeply about their pets and and around our house we are no different.  We have a miniature schnauzer named Django and he is essentially a member of the family. We have tried several different foods with him over the last few years.  He is quite the connoisseur, although his favorite things to eat seem to be carrots and bacon.

We were given the opportunity to try Pure Balance dog food in the Salmon & Pea flavor.  Some of the first things we noticed was that Salmon was the first ingredient on the label.  The food also contains no soy, corn or wheat.  We were happy to see there are no fillers, artificial flavors or artificial preservatives in the food.

PureBalanceFoodWe started the test by mixing the new food with our dog’s old food in a 50/50 ratio.  We laughed as he quickly started using his nose to root around for the new food.  It was an instant hit from Mr. Picky himself.  The size of the kibble comes into play too.  His old food has small kibbles and larger, non-uniform chunks.  The larger chunks stick in his beard and he drops them everywhere but back in his bowl.  The Pure Balance dog food kibbles are all a uniform size and he has no problem eating every last piece from the bowl.

We’ve been using the food for a couple of weeks now and our dog really seems to be benefiting from it.  We can tell he has gained a little bit of weight and it’s probably because he’s not avoiding half of his food now.  His activity levels are good and we haven’t noticed any digestive issues as of yet.  There’s a good chance that the Pure Balance dog food may become our dog’s permanent new diet.  (Don’t worry Django, you’re still going to get bacon and carrots)

Pure Balance Dog Food is available on Walmart.com and at your local Walmart Store in a variety of flavors and sizes. Prices may vary depending on store.
