Dear Dumb Diary Now a Movie!

The New York Times best-selling book series by author and illustrator Jim Benton has been adapted into a musical movie experience exclusively for Walden Family Theater. Walmart and P&G present the Walden Family Theater premier of Dear Dumb Diary Friday, 9/6 on the Hallmark Channel.

We were able to get a few of the books for my girls to read. My girls are 8 years old, and in the 3rd grade. They fell in love with these books, almost instantly!  This post is a little different, as I offered them a chance to let you know what they think about the books, themselves… Here are their reviews!

Hi! My name is Victoria! I just read Dear Dumb Diary #1 Let’s Pretend This Never Happened! It was great! I hope you will like it too!

This book is about a girl named Jamie who goes to high school. She has an enemy named Angeline, who is really mean. At least, that’s what Jamie thinks. There is also a boy named Mike Pinsetti that like to call people names. One day, a peach rolled out of Jamie’s backpack, and he started calling her “peach girl”. Jamie also saw Angeline after lunch, and was very annoyed.

While she was getting ready for school the next morning, Jamie’s cousin was dropped off. He was a handful. She had to bring him to school, and it was not easy. She even had to chase him down the halls. Angeline started being nice to Jamie, and her life was much better.

Thanks for reading!

Hi! My name is Alexandra, and I read Dear Dumb Diary #2, My Pants Are Haunted! I liked this book! I’ll tell you a little bit about it!

This book is about a girls named Jamie Kelly, and she has a good friend named Isabella. She also has a dog named Stinker. Jamie had a pair of pants that she think were perfect, but later when she wore them, they were itchy and she didn’t like them at all. Strange things happened, and it even looked like a circle had been chewed through them. It is a mystery. What is happening to her pants?

I will not tell you the rest of the story! You’ll have to read it for yourself to solve the mystery and find out if her pants really are haunted or not.

Thank you!
