New Kinect RUSH A Disney • Pixar Adventure (Xbox360)

We were recently sent the new Kinect RUSH Disney • Pixar Adventure game to try out, and once my girls got the hang of it, it turned out to be a lot of fun. Kinect RUSH takes you through five Disney • Pixar worlds, including Toy Story, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, UP, and Cars. Players use their bodies as the controllers, and run, jump, and climb through the different worlds.

You start off by creating your avatar for navigating through Pixar Park. It’s created simply by standing in front of the Kinect camera and allowing it to take a photo of you and scan your face. I’m wondering how precise it is though, because my very brunette daughter ended up with a very blonde avatar. Haha. She didn’t mind it too much though. Once the avatar is created, you can walk around Pixar Park, and meet with other characters. They’ll take you to different adventures where your avatar will morph into a character that fits the Pixar World.

My girls had a lot of fun with this game, although they did find a couple of places a little difficult to navigate. We still have a long way to go before we get to the end of the game, but they’re working on it. The only thing that we wish the game would do, is allow the both of them to play on there as their avatars. When playing a 2 player co-op, only one was able to be her avatar, and the other would come in as a guest.. typically a boy… and they didn’t really like that. I really do like the fact that their bodies are the controllers, and they are very active when controlling their characters. This is a much different experience than when I was a kid!

All in all, though, this game has been a lot of fun, and I can see the whole family jumping in and playing this whenever possible. Disney • Pixar movies are some of our absolute favorites, so this game is right up our alley!
