Giveaway: In honor of Earth Month

**This giveaway is now closed.**

It is Earth Month, and although I’m a little behind here, I wanted to make sure that you didn’t miss out on an amazing opportunity! Thanks to several sponsors, I, along with many of the other ElevenMoms are able to giveaway a Go Green Bundle of five products! This giveaway will be fast so be sure to enter quickly!

The Bissell Little Green Multi-Purpose Compact Earth-Friendly Deep Cleaner is first on the list of goodies! I have had another version of this machine for many years, and I absolutely love it. It’s perfect for picking up little spills or even some larger messes. It has saved my carpet many times! I always keep solution in the tank and keep it on the ready just in case my girls, or my dog decide to make some sort of mess in the house. It has proven it’s weight in gold several times over.

britaThe next item is the Brita Water Pitcher. My parents have used these pitchers for quite a long time now, and they love them. I received one to try out, and it is pretty cool. I would greatly suggest one if you don’t already have a water dispenser in your refrigerator. Well, even if you do, it’s nice to have on hand for making a quick pitcher of iced tea or something rather than waiting to fill the pitcher from the fridge. It’s definitely great to have on hand rather than buying bottled water all of the time.

whitecloud#3 is the White Cloud Green Earth Paper Towels and Toilet Paper. These products are made from 100% recycled paper, and they are actually pretty soft and absorbent! I didn’t get to keep my set because we just didn’t have any room left in our car for our cross country drive, but my parents did get to keep them, and they did like them. I’ve also heard some really good feedback from other moms as well. I think I’ll just have to run to the store and get some to see for myself how well they really do work!

Tide Coldwater Liquid Detergent is next on the list of goodies in this Go Green Giveaway! Have you ever thought about how much energy you use up when you wash your clothes in hot water? That water heater works over time to refill for other things like showers, dish washing, etc. Using cold water to wash your colors saves a great amount on the environment and your electric or gas bill!

And lastly…

if you’ve seen my review/appearance on Good Day Sacramento, you saw that I love my GreenWorks All Purpose Cleaner. It cleans up dried spaghetti sauce with very little effort! It’s made from plant based ingredients so it’s safer for your household and the environment. I honestly think the GreenWorks All purpose cleaner cleans messes easier than dishwashing liquid, etc. do a great job of cleaning those tough messing in our homes without worrying about harmful chemicals since Greenworks is a plant-based cleaner. I’ve stocked up on most of their products.

So now that you know a little bit about the products and what I think of them… who wants to win this Go Green Bundle and try these products out for yourself???

  1. I have been trying so hard. We recycle, use cloth bags, changed all our light bulbs to energy efficient, bought a Pur water faucet filter and only going to drink tap water, using natural cleaners and a few more things. Always new things to learn. Thank you so much for the fantastic giveaway!

  2. we use cloth bags when we go shopping, have switched to non-toxic cleaning products & try to use vinegar solution whenever possible for cleaning, changed our light bulbs to energy efficient ones, and use glass containers for food storage instead of plastic ones! this giveaway looks great — I hope I win!

  3. We try to use any lights in the house when it is ONLY truly needed. Now working on trying to get him in the habit of unplugging things when they are not being used and turning off the computers! Oh and we stopped the purchase of water bottles quite a while ago. 🙂

  4. We use our own grocery bags when we shop, recycle all of our household paper, changed all of our light bulbs, grow our own garden, and we do not buy bottled water or sports drinks, we have a huge stash of reusable bottles we fill when we go places.

  5. I’m doing everything I can to save energy! I keep my thermostat up and turn off all the lights when they aren’t being used. 🙂

  6. We recycle and compost. I use my own bags at the grocery store. I’ve switched my light bulbs to CFLs. We turn off the lights and TV when we leave a room and try to keep things unplugged when not in use. My kids and husband walk or bike to school and work.

  7. Our family is trying to not use as much water. We are also planting our own garden and looking into composting that the dog will not get into.

  8. Our family started to become much more aware of the environment over the past year… we’ve turned down the hot water heater to 120*, switched all of our light bulbs to CFL’s, turn off the lights when we’re not in a room, recycle EVERYTHING possible (our garbage container is the smallest on our street!), we use environmentally friendly household cleaners & organicly certified toiletries, use re-usable shopping bags, and we plant trees & shrubs yearly. Whew! I’m pretty sure our carbon footprint is pretty low!

  9. I just started a worm bin to reduce the amount of garbage from my household. I use reusable grocery bags and non-toxic cleaners. I recycle everything I can. I just bought a machine to make soda at home in reusable containers to cut down on waste from carbonated beverage containers (cutting them out completely would be better, but I can’t cut the habit!).

  10. In our house, we go green by using energy efficient light bulbs throughout. We also recycle whatever we can and try to reduce our electricity use as much as possible. I have also started buy the new “green” cleaners out on the market and have switched my laundry soap and dryer sheets to the environmentally friendly brands that are out like Arm and Hammer and Purex. Thanks so much for such a wonderful giveaway!

  11. We go green by not running the water when we brush teeth, by recycling everything possible (including toys, clothes, etc. by having yard sales and Freecycle) and by making sure lilghts are switched off unless we need them. We also use Tots2Tweens bags to cut down on plastic bag usage.

  12. Wow! I have been talking about getting a Bissell Little Green. We try more and more to recycle in our house. My poor husband never hears the end of my nagging to turn off the lights when he leaves a room!

  13. I am a HUGE water drinker, so I started thinking about plastic I was contributing to the landfills and I was ashamed of myself, ME the tree hugger! I immediately went out and got a Re-Fillable bottle that I loved and started to use it! NO excuses!

I am recycling like a Banshee! NO excuses on that either! The Bin is there, I use it!

I made my own vinegar and water Glass and mirror cleaner, put it in a spray bottle and use it! And what do I use to wipe dry with?? Newspaper! There is something in the print that makes the windows really clean!

I am Talking Shorter showers… grrrrr! And washing my clothes in cold water in FULL loads! Dishwasher MUST be full too!
These are a few of my NEW GREEN Lifestyle Changes!!!

  14. I started using the White Cloud Green toilet paper and paper towels. We recycle. I am teaching my children about the importance of going green (in easier to understand words for them, of course). I use the energy efficient light bulbs. I consolidate water and teach my children to do the same. We’ve planted a fresh veggie garden of foods we actually eat and spices we use. We have an apple tree and peach tree that we eat from, not to mention the blackberry bush..mmmmmmm We also use reuseable shopping bags.
For the future, I am looking into buying more environmentally friendly clothes for the children.
Thanks for the awesome chance to win such a GREAT bundle!

  15. I have banned plastic bags from my house! YEAH! I’ve spent the last few months gathering up reusable totes, which I love, and I now have enough to say bye-bye to plastic! I also no longer use harsh chemical cleaners. Since I have COPD my lungs are much happier without the chemicals! Thanks! hondaray6 at hotmail dot com

  16. We have changed all our light bulbs to energy efficient ones. We have also started composting and we recycle everything possible.
    Thanks

  17. I’m sending my husband on a TAD which means less water used in the house. No extra lights to be on, one less person driving a car to and from base. Kids and I go to bed earlier which means all lights out at 8. If I could find a way for my kids to pick up dog mess in the back yard I woun’t need plastic bags, but until then we are reusing the bags for dog mess. As the great thing of him being gone if a light burns out I don’t replace it anytime soon…who needs all three light on in a fan.

  18. we recycle everything we can and pretty much reuse the rest. always packing lunch in reusable containers and using reusable bags. garbage and recycling day is funny – we have 1 trash bag and TONS of recyclables.

  19. I recycle. And I even have my boyfriend doing it! 🙂 Plus, we try and conserve as much energy as possible. We’re also looking into starting a garden. 🙂

  20. We use reusable bags at the store, any plastic bags we do get are used for litter box cleanings, we have SEVERAL CFL’s thoughout the house, we turn all lights off when we leave, we use ceiling fans and the blinds to help control temp in the house, we reuse plastic and glass containers, we recycle gift bags and wrappings, we also have a front loading washer. We continue to add more “green” things to our list!!

  21. When we moved into our new house we replace all the bulbs there with the energy efficient bulbs. We are using our own bags at the store. I find that the stores aren’t ready for this. It annoys them when we use our own bags. So if I can self checkout I do. We also turned the water down on our water heater. THanks

  22. I have a great collection of reusable grocery tote bags. Any plastic bags I end up bringing home get recycled into trash can liners. I have composted all of my kitchen scraps for years…my garden loves me for it! My flower petals get the royal treatment and get turned into potpourri and sent traveling around the world 🙂 Of course to do this I reuse granola bar boxes, and any mailing materials that come with things we order online!

  23. We have been using green cleaning products. My husband carpools to work and we are teaching our daughter to recycle and conserve water and energy.

  24. My family recycles and tries to make things out of things that I see on the internet and television. I am looking into possibly going solar or partly anyway. That’s not for sure yet but I am looking into it. Could save me money and be kinder to the earth. Thanks for the chance.

  25. Glad to hear you liked the Green Works cleaner. I’m always so disappointed when I go green with cleaners. I’ll have to check that one out.

  26. We use canvas/nylon bags for all our shopping. I use microfiber cloths for dusting and old towels for mopping the floors. We recycle newspapers and aluminum cans.

  27. What we do to live a little green…. I cloth diaper our twins and well cloth diaper our new one when he comes in July/ Aug. I use cloth wipes and wash with HE washer with homemade soap. We planted a garden and some fruit trees. I started a compost pile in our yard. I try to use natural cleaners when I can. We love vinegar lol We use cloth bags at the store. I am also on a group called freecycle were you can post a email giving away items you don’t want anymore free to someone that wants them it keeps them out of the land fill…

  28. I like to recycle everything. I recycle cans to cloths to furniture to glass jars. Anything that I think someone else can use for something is given away. We also have a free clothing place in town that I donate a lot of stuff too. I also use cleaners that are environmentally friendly. Recently I saw a glider rocker recliner and ottamon in the trash by someone’s house that was in good shape. I stopped in the rain and picked it up and brought it home to be cleaned. Even though I can’t use it someone else may be able to! Why let things go to the dump if they are still usable?

  29. I use cloth bags to shop, but when I do get plastic store bags I always reuse them – over and over. I recycle disposables and use fluorescent daylight bulbs. I am in the process of switching from reusable plastic to reusable metal water bottles.

  30. I use recycled reusable grocery bags. I recycle my kids clothes and we plant trees every spring. We don’t use paper utensils and plates, cups

  31. I am pregnant with my second and we are going to do cloth diapers with this baby! I also recycle and use green cleaning products! Thanks so much for this chance!

  32. We have been recycling, reusing and repurposing for years now…not so much because of the “green” movement but just because it makes such good sense to appreciate what you have and not assume that everything is disposable. It worked for my parents and grandparents so why not me and my children? : )

We save large boxes from foods we purchase at outlet stores to carry groceries on future trips thus eliminating the needs for plastics bags. We use the cloth bags for smaller purchases and we monitor our energy usage saving when and where we can.

  33. I try to make a difference every day and implement every change I can make. I have started using a pile of towels in the kitchen instead of paper towels. I use cloth bags. I have started adjusting the water level on the washer and we installed low flow heads on our showers

  34. Well…i have been “green” for YEARS!! Now it is hip and I love it! We compost, use CFL bulbs are are looking into LED ALWAYS bring my own bags to the store…EVERY STORE!! I love the looks I get at TJ maxx, who says the totes are only for groceries??

  35. I am making a concious effort to have a green household.
I’ve changed all of my lightbulbs over to the energy efficient kind and I buy green products whenever available. I’ve recycled for years and continue to do so-We drink tapwater-no plastic bottles here. And we use cloth bags for our shopping. Thanks for this great giveaway.

Dixies last blog post..I Won at Hip Mama’s Place!

  36. freecycling, reusable shopping bags, using my china instead of paper plates, using recycled products such as Reynolds recycled aluminium foil.

  37. I do my best to make sure that lights are all turned off when not in use…sometimes I think it actually annoys my wife. I think I’ve actually turned off the light on her a few times. 😉

  38. We go green by recycling, and not buying any water bottles. WE also use our own re-usable shopping bags instead of the plastic ones!

  39. Awesome giveaway! We’re trying to do our part by using less electricity, using products like Green Works around the house.. and attempting compost. We just started that last one, so we’ll see how it goes 🙂
