Getting out the tough stains with BIZ

When I say tough stains… I really mean… TOUGH STAINS.

When I signed on to work with BIZ, I wasn’t sure if it could “hang” with our laundry needs, and I really wanted to put it to the test… So.. I did… against one of the toughest stains I could think of…. Blood… dun dun dunnnnn.

No– My family didn’t get hurt or anything. This is all about my husband and his bird hunting trips.

So, in the great ol’ state of North Carolina, you are required to wear bright orange when you’re out hunting. Not just “any” orange, but a specific color they dub “Hunter’s Orange”. It’s kind of this really bright, almost neon orange, and when it gets dirty, you can tell.

Here’s the situation. A couple of years ago, when my husband started his foray into bird hunting, I bought him a really nice, Hunter’s Orange, jacket to keep him warm, and highly visible, while out hunting. It has truly done it’s job. The only thing that hurts is when he actually gets a bird, he puts it in a pouch in his vest, and yes, blood can escape that pouch and get on his jacket. Of course, it did, creating one of the yuckiest stains I’ve ever had to deal with. He comes home with this dried on stain, and I just wanted shook my head. I knew I was in for a job.

I treated this stain with the regular stain remover we keep on hand, according to the directions, and washed it in the washing machine. The stain remained. I tried a “heavy duty” stain remover that I picked up, that specifically states that it works on blood. I took the jacket out of the dryer and was sad. The stain remained. I gave up and figured.. it was his hunting jacket. Of course it’s going to have blood on it. Yuck.

Here is the stain after that initial wash.

Fast forward to last week.

I thought… You know, I have to do a blog post on some real life uses… Where’s that dang jacket? I dug it out of the closet, and thought, “What the heck? Let’s give it a go!”

I pre-treated with the BIZ stain and odor eliminator, and used my fingernail to scratch it into the fabric a little bit… I washed and hung the jacket up to dry. After a day or so, I looked at it, and the stain was visibly different. You could see the lines where I scratched into the stain with BIZ. Oh. My. Gosh! I was on to something here. I fully intended to come back to this and bring reinforcements.

This morning, I had a moment to tackle this stain again. I poured on a bit of BIZ, used a brand new dish brush to scrub on the jacket a bit, and set it up to wash. Immediately upon taking it out of the washer, I knew this time was different. I hung it up to dry again, and waited a couple of hours to check it out. WOW! The stain has almost disappeared! There is a tiny spot that is barely noticeable unless you’re in the right light. Like, I would not be embarrassed or grossed out if he wore it in public right now!

I may take to the jacket one more time to see if I can get it completely out, but right now, I am extremely impressed with this product! Actually putting it to use on a stain as tough as blood, and having repeated, visible results, has made me a complete believer in BIZ as a stain treatment. I have already removed the other brands of stain treatment that I have used and that has made my laundry storage much easier to deal with!

What are some of your toughest stain issues? Have you/Will you try BIZ Stain and Odor Eliminator now?
