Designer Style Glasses- Not Designer Brand Prices

Do you wear glasses or contacts? If you do, then you’re probably aware at how much they can cost! I typically get my glasses and contacts from my optometrist’s office, and even with insurance, my cost can still be in the $100 range. Why? Because typically, optometrist offices carry the name brands! We’re talking Coach, Juicy, Ray-Ban, etc… and you’re paying for the name. That’s all. Nothing really special.. Just a name brand printed on the side of the frame.

6869-3_WalmartBlogMom_OctoberEvent_533I recently had the chance to check out a new selection of glasses frames at Walmart, and it was awesome. The display they had set up for us had the name brand frames right above the Walmart frames, and I was very impressed with the quality and details in the store branded frames. I think my favorites were the Coach brand vs. the store brand version. The fit, the look, everything was very similar, except the store brand version didn’t have the Coach signature “C”s all over the inside of the frames. That’s ok though! It wasn’t the name I was going for, it was the look. Oh, and did I mention, the price was right? The branded frames were over $100. The store branded ones were $43. With Walmart, you can get frames and lenses for less than you can get from any optometrist shop. If Walmart happens to work with your insurance company, you can save even more!

Walmart’s frames started at only $19, and of course, there are more expensive options too.. but if you can find your look for less, why spend outrageous amounts of money? You can take that money you would have spent and upgrade your lenses, or save it for something else entirely!

Now, if you wear contact lenses, you can get those at Walmart for a lot less too! Want color contacts? They’ve got you covered there too! While we didn’t get the chance to try out any of those, since they are truly a specialized item, I know that Walmart has a great selection at great prices! I’ve purchased mine from there too!

Check out your local Walmart store to see what great styles they have available!
