DIY- Snowy, Glittery, Sparkly Winter Candle Decor

On my last trip to Bentonville with my fellow Walmart Moms, we were shown some amazing centerpieces and decorative displays made with items from Better Homes and Gardens. One decorative display that really stuck out in my mind was one made with a beautiful photo frame, flameless candles, and a whole lot of epsom salt… Rather than try to describe it, check it out…

If you’d like to copy this idea, please do! It’s really easy to make, and everything you need can be found at your local Walmart Stores, with the exception of the twigs. I trimmed  some of our trees for those! Ready to get started? I’ll show you how!

What you need:

Decorative Photo Frame

Flameless Candles

Twigs

Pearlized Sewing Pins

Mod Podge

Paintbrush

Epsom Salt

Glitter

How you make it:

  • Mix up some epsom salt and glitter on a large plate.

  • Paint the mod podge onto the twigs, and roll them in the epsom salt/glitter mixture, and set aside to dry.
  • Carefully draw a snowflake onto your candles, or use this template. Just shrink it down to fit your candle, and tape it on.

  • Cut most of the metal pin off of the pearl tip, leaving about 1/4″ to push into the candle wax.
  • Use the template to push the pins into the candle wax.

  • Carefully tear away the paper template if you used one.
  • You can brush on some glitter, or leave it as is.
  • Place the  frame  on the table, like a tray. Place the candles on the tray however you’d like to display them, and fill in with the twigs.

  • Display your beautiful craft as a centerpiece, or as a decoration somewhere else in the home!
